A feral snarl ripped from the man’s throat as he announced his presence. The call was returned by the bear’s own bellow, a challenge to the vampire that stood before him. The very idea that this creature might hold a challenge for him was laughable. The man bent into an offensive crouch and sprung, using his hind legs to propel him towards the bear with arms outstretched. The bear let out a second warble, gleaming fangs naked to meet its opponent.
The tussle was over quickly. Garrett disposed of the animal quickly, pinning it to the ground and crushing it before it could react or feel any pain. He lowered his mouth to the animal’s jugular, fangs dipping in between the patches of thick fur to find the skin’s surface. He drank the animal clean, midnight eyes lightening in shades of feathering ocher until they gleamed a hue of purest honey.
He rose from the fallen corpse, wiping his already clean lips on the back of his sleeve. Not quite as satisfying as human blood; it never was. But it was enough. Besides, animals put up more of a fight than humans did. It was more fun to wrestle with it for a little bit without having a woman shrieking like a crow in your ear. Humans never quite fought back; they were too quickly resigned to their fate. But black bears…well, they were a whole different sport.
He glanced back at the carcass, feeling the smallest twinge of pity. Perhaps the bear had cubs somewhere that needed it. But he couldn’t think of that; no, it was not his problem to brood upon. It was not that Garrett did not feel pity for his prey. No, he always felt a pang of guilt when observing his handy work. There were just too many fallen bodies, too many lives ended to care about one in particular. Besides, animals weren’t like humans. They didn’t have memories, feeling, complex thoughts. They were better prey.
Shoving his hands into the pockets of his jeans, Garrett picked up a strutting walk, his lanky legs carrying him at a pace that would have been considered a jog by mere mortals. He gave his head a shake, golden locks flicking to one side and removing themselves from his line of vision. He felt much better now; less crabby. Tanya had been complaining that he waited too long between hunts, that his far from agreeable behavior was too constant. Garrett felt more like himself now, more playful and ready for anything. Now, all there was left to do was find something to amuse him.

----S he didn’t know how long it had been since she had returned to this place she was standing right now. She was standing in the middle of a clearing in her woods. The sun was shining down from above, which was nice but also once in a blue moon. Her skin, was what mesmerized anyone who was within seeing distance, the skin that was bare shone like thousands of tiny diamonds, which was why she stayed in a place like Denali. Kate’s eyes scanned the forest around her; her eyes usually so kind, so warm, and so happy now were a cold, broken black. She didn’t know how long ago she had taken blood but it had to be at least two weeks. Tanya can been complaining that she was snapping at her and though Kate didn’t want that ever since the Cullen’s moved down here old memories were being thrown at her from different angles. Kate hadn’t thought of her sister for a while until the memories of the battle were being reminded just in one innocent girls face. ----Yes sometimes Kate found it easier to blame Renesmee for the death or Irina but she knew that it was Irina’s fault. No matter how she wanted to will the blame on someone else she knew her sister had been insensitive and careless and that ended her life. Kate sighed and took a few steps forward. She could feel a heart beating close near, she could smell the blood, she could hear the animal take deep breaths in as it prepared to pounce for another innocent creature not yet aware that he would be the meal tonight. She crept up behind the gray wolf that lurked in the shadows and did an elegant pounce trapping his neck against the ground. She sank her sharp teeth into his neck and fed off of his blood. For a animal that wolf had a lot of blood and by the time she was done she already felt satisfied. Kate got up from the ground brushing the dirt off her jeans and licking her lips. To finally feel the hot blood trickling down her throat was nice it made her less angry, and more relaxed, kind of like she felt when she used her power jokingly. ----Kate looked down at the drained animal, no longer moving, breathing, or contemplating his next move for his own pray, lifeless, and useless. She stepped over him and continued deep within the forest. She could tell even without looking at her eyes that they weren’t yet the golden brown they should be, and maybe will another animal in her they would but even if she was well fed her eyes would still have a dark tint to them, like they have had ever since her sister departed. At that moment as she wandered within the dark trees she was following the intoxicating scent of another animal, on who heart was strong, and beating fast, who blood pulsed through his veins, she could feel her hands tingling, the electricity making its way long her skin, raising her hair from her white arms. She could smell his fear as she taste the bittersweet of his blood on her lips. She eyes the bear that could tell that danger was near, not giving it two thoughts. She pounced from where she had been standing taking it to the ground with the electricity that shocked him underneath her touch. ----A Small smirk on her lips she striked again, sinking her teeth into his neck but not draining him fully. Just enough for her to feel bloated and with enough blood left that he could survive. Licking the blood that had dripped down her lips she looked at the animal regaining its strength on the ground and decided to head back, not wanting to be there when it did. She was going to go back until another scent caught her. A scent she knew so well, one that would never get old, or not worth it, garret was close by. She knew he was quite knew to this part of his diet and she knew he liked to push himself, yet she also knew that Tanya had sent him to hunt almost the same time she had sent Kate and that was kind of comforting. She slowed to a walk tailing his fragrance as she could tell he was on the move. ----Kate smirked slightly as she saw him, head down, probably thinking, or trying to find something to do. She smiled slightly and quickened her pace so she could run and jump on his back. She smirked holding onto him tightly sending a small shock through his skin. She used to do this with her friend all the time, see how much they could handle but garrett was different, she loved him. She kissed his cheek softly “hey you” she said with a small smirk. She let a small giggle come from between her lips “did Tanya want to get rid of you too’ she asked pretending to sound bewildered “you know she seems to be getting a little snappy maybe we should send her on a hunt and then we can finally have the house to ourselves and none of her useless banter” she said with a small smirk liking that idea.
