The most powerful clan around is not to be messed with it. That is simply not the way things are handled. It had become clear to Jane, though, that though the entire family had years of experience, the Cullens simply did not understand how to leave well enough alone. Carlisle had even spent enough time among the Volturi himself that he ought to know better than to behave as he had been. It was entirely too much of a danger to have humans around who knew more than they ought to about the life of the Cullens and the others like them. Of course, it was only expected that the Volturi take care of the matter.
The girl’s crimson eyes scanned the clearing she stood in. The place reeked of wolves. She simply couldn’t understand how the Cullens had lived so long in such close proximity with the werewolves. Still, she knew this was her best bet for finding a target. She was determined to find a way to get close to the newest Cullen. She knew she couldn’t hurt the girl herself, and she would stop at nothing to cause the girl as much pain as possible. If only she could find them and get this over with. The scent of the woods let her know that whichever she found, human or wolf, she was going to have to endure a bit of torture on her own end. Even the humans spent so much time with the werewolves that the scene had seeped into their very skin.
The leather of the girl’s boots was soft against her skin, and their rubber soles hardly made a sound as she treaded on the damp grass and brown leaves. She wore a dark green dress and black tights. Her clothing looked too old for her twelve year old body. But she’d been twelve for nearly four hundred years. She figured she deserved to grow up just a little. Her thoughts came to an abrupt halt as the warmth of a fresh scent met her nose, and the vampire looked around for the source of it. Of course, whatever it was wasn’t close enough to even make a sound yet. She still had a bit of waiting to do.

Cursing as she went, Chelsea ran up the mountain, but not too fast. Jane could stand to learn a little more patience. Gosh, she hated answering to a twelve year-old. Sure, small appearance but really old and a really bad temper but that didn't make things any better. Chelsea much preferred answering to elders who actually looked like they were at least a few decades old - not to mention centuries.
"I dragged my butt over the ocean and up this mountain I hope you have a good reason," she finally barked when she was a hundred feet from Jane. But that distance wasn't too far, Jane had very acute senses. "So why is it that I had to come out here to this God-forsaken piece of frozen land?" No need to be angry...perhaps. But Chelsea hated leaving the safety and orderliness of the Volturi.
"All Aro would say was something about that brat of a girl that the Cullens' spawn. Are we finally going to eliminate them all or something?" she ranted, before quietly murmuring "Stupid veggies..." Chels didn't understand the Cullens. Not one bit. And that little one was a box of trouble and then some. But it wasn't her place to summon a coven to death. devidev1.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=miniplots&action=display&thread=272

Jane stood there her eyes breifly rollingher eyes inback in her head. Why did she have to have Chelsea have to come again. She turned to her her bright crimsion eyes looking her over. Did she seriously feel the need to to go off on a speil and complain to her. Not smile graced janes face it was a face of stone expressionless. Which was rare outside of the Volturi she usually had an act of pure childish innocence. but that was for her victims and other vampires. But now she was dealing with a member of the guard no need to play around.
"We came to pick flowers!" she said coldly then shook her head. "the Cullens moved her and we have some things to take care of Aro wants to know of the child." she said simply and shortly. "I can't really tell you anything else in case you decide to think about it when that mind readers around." Jane didn't even think she need Chelsea help but Aro had insited her power would be most bennefical to her. Jane resented the Cullens and wanted to bwe rid of the troublesome coven.
Jane felt she needed approval from Aro with everything she did. She needed reassurance that she was worthy of the Volturi, she feared failing them. Though her loyalty was sealed with her life. She could never betray them, that is the last thing she would do. Her life was to satisfy them in every way possible. So she had agreed but on her terms. Not many of the Volturi guard knew where she was and those who did where quite jealous.

Of course. Jane wasn't one to tell others even the most important of facts. It kept her in power, in control and Chelsea hated for someone to have that much control. But she a guard of the Volturi, she knew how to keep her place even if it was normally with Aro and Afton rather than this munchkin menace. Her frustration wasn't going to calm though. If she came all this way, she at least wanted a hint of why.
"I know how to distract my thoughts," she responded coldly as if she had been attacked. "At least tell me what I'm suppose to tell them. I'm sure that Alice has already seen me here, no need to keep them waiting, asking more questions. But I need some answers! Or I'll get another ticket back to Italy. The air here is too thin," Chelsea told Jane. Though her voice did become frustrated and strained in the middle of her speech, she calmed down at the end looking over the mountains.
She knew there was no way she was going to be able to break the bounds of the Cullens. That...Bella was too strong. Chelsea could get past her to them. That being the case, Chelsea need to know what she was doing in Denali. From her point of view, she was a useless weapon against the Cullens.

He seemed to appear from nowhere, the hulking form that had propelled himself so quickly across the surface of the massive body of flowing liquid that walking on water was no such miracle to him. Afton had been ordered into the frozen wasteland of Alaska by Aro and he wasn’t about to refuse; besides, Chelsea was here and that he wasn’t about to let her wander off by herself. And so he seemingly materialized beside his mate, appreciative eyes taking in the small vampire before him. Afton had great respect for Jane; she was so young and yet so ancient at the same time. The epitome of power and for that, he gave her his loyalty. “Greetings,” he rumbled, nodding towards both women in turn.
He didn’t speak after that. Afton rarely spoke; he wasn’t fond of words and Chelsea usually did most of the talking anyway. He stood a silent spectator to the exchange of words between the two females, watching as his mate added fuel to the fire. His only addition to the conversation was to lay a stony hand on Chelsea’s shoulder, not restraining but a reminder. It seemed to say, remember who you are. Last time a vampire had gotten out of line, Jane hadn’t hesitated to use her peculiar gift on them. Afton didn’t need Chelsea writhing at his feet.
His stoic gaze focused on the little being, something almost pleading deep within his maroon stare. They were both thirsty, and Chelsea wasn’t about to grovel at Jane’s feet. Hopefully the young prodigy would understand that…or maybe she wouldn’t.

Jane listens as Chelsea spoke if it was up to Jane she wouldn't have Chelsea here. Her complaining from the past few minutes was enough to annoy her inot a bad mood. Jane bite her tongue she was going to be civil for the moment. "They know where are and not why I very much prefer to keep it that way." she said coldly her voice like stone. Jane wanted to cut this conversation of why they where here had to stay a secret as long as possible. Jane went to turn away and walk further more when she hear something.
Jane turned back around to see Afton. Did Aro really think she need this much help she pursed her mouth in frustration she knew she would need help but she realy wanted to do this on her own. But that wasn't tat way things worked with Aro. Jane acknoledge Afton then looked to Chelsea. "Fine, defy Aros order and go back to Italy." she said simply. "I don't need you asking me question about this every 5 minutes."
Jane didn't want a fight, no wait that was a lie she enjoyed causing pain. But she didn't have the time now no matter how much she was up for it. she hoped Afton would distract Chelsea from starting anything. Jane let out and unnessicarly sigh knowing she couldn't leave the pair completely in the dark but she didn't want to jepordize anything especially with such a powerful coven as the Cullens.

Afton's sudden presence was a comfort. It gave Chelsea more courage, but also more restraint. With Afton there she felt like she could do anything, but had the wisdom not to do whatever she wanted. Restraint is important for a vampire, especially one in the Volturi Guard. You can't just go and feed and sparkle without consequence. At least for the most part.
Jane's response frustrated Chelsea. She just didn't understand the young looking vampire. She was always the queen chess piece, totally in control and Chelsea was a pawn. But reach the end of the board and the game might be even...but that would take more effort than Chelsea currently had. Plus, Jane's special talent gave her enough reason to hold her tongue most of the time.
"Fine, I'll just get a hotel. It's obvious that..." Chelsea bit her tongue. She almost said that it was obvious that Jane need Chelsea to do whatever it was she had to do, but that wouldn't have been wise. "...Aro had his reason. Plus a winter vacation can't be that bad, right Afton?" Chelsea said, turning to her mate. She gave him a charming smile and then reached up on her tippy toes to give him a quick kiss. "Call me when you got something for me to do," she said, turning with cold smile towards Jane as she gently laced her fingers with Afton's.

Jane's eyes narrowed and she tilted her head looking at Chelsea. In all honest Jane was slightly jealous of the fact she had a mate it was something she had always wanted but never had gotten she had her brother but it wasn't what she wanted. Jane simply shook her head staying silent for a moment. "No." she said simply turning away from the par taking a couple steps away. "So simple minded why do we even have you on the guard...." she said sighing.
Jane turned back to the pair a smile on her lips mine as well. "The moment your mate shows up you want to run off and fool around." Jane glanced at Afton briefly then back to Chelsea. "and you know me better I won't call you if i need you as a member of the guard you should know always be attentive to the the mission...and not your personal needs." now Janes was just messing with Chelsea looking for a reaction. True it may not have been the nicest thing to say but it wasn't the cruelest thing she had thought of either.
Jane simply shook her head. We need to focus on the young one anyways learn what we can I'll take care of Bella." She knew what she wanted Chelsea for she was going to put her power to the test but telling her now wouldn't do any good. She felt working under pressure always brought out the best. She smiled at the thought. "We don't want to disappoint Aro he will want to know every detail when we get back." she wouldn't hide a thing of course she just hoped they didn't go back empty handed.

"I'm always on alert," Chelsea curtly replied. She knew that Jane would never voluntarily ask for someone else's help, or even for them to come obey her. She was the type who would do anything but ask. And Chelsea knew that. Just once, she thought it would be nice for the short vampire to grow up a little bit...figuratively speaking that is.
"We'll keep an eye on that little crazy half-ling. I sure hope an execution is in order," Chelsea said with vengeance and a malicious smile. After all, it would be good for the Volturi to know how to kill those things. Might be easier...or harder...than your average vampire. Can't let these things get out of control, right?
"It's just too bad you don't know how to have a little fun," Chelsea said with just enough sting to let Jane know what she was getting at. It was the kind of fun Jane wouldn't know how to have unless she found a mate. Oh wait, that was a sure fire way to get Chelsea ripped to pieces and burned. She quickly added "...A romantic comedy and a few board games never hurt anyone." Hopefully that would make her statement innocent enough to hold Jane's furry.

Jane looked at Chelsea her head carefully tilting to the side looking the other vampire. Her cold eye baring into her Jane so wanted to attack her right now. But she knew better there was a time and place for everything and this wasn't it. Though maybe just a little pain would hurt a small smile slipped onto her face at the thought. Then she quickly shook her head turning away.
The young one was something that interested Aro greatly sure her power wasn't all that special in Jane's opinion but some how the Cullen's had birthed a half ling the first to ever come into Volturis path. Of course such an anomaly was something they wanted to look into. But Jane had other focuses and knew they would get what they wanted in the end anyways. that was all that matter in all honesty please Aro and keeping the vampire world safe.
At Chelsea last comment Jane's jaw tightened as she whirled around facing Chelsea. Anger apparent on her face. She heard the last few words uttered by Chelsea but she could tell what the other vampire had meant and there was no covering it up. "Afton hold you mates tongue before she looses it." Jane eyes never left Chelsea she was considering attacking her now it would do her some good. Maybe help her learn what she shouldn't speak about. "Be careful what you say you don't want to get hurt..." she said her voice light how she was able to control it was beyond her all she was focusing on was her power and how badly she wanted to use it right now.
